Awaken Sea Salt Scrub from Arbonne’s Aromassentials – $36¬†

Talk about my HOLY GRAIL scrub – I reviewed it a while back.¬†Here¬†it is if you’re interested. This sea salt scrub is full of beautiful smelling essential oils that hydrate your skin instantly ensuring that it is left looking supple, luminescent¬†and beautiful. The sea salt works to scrub away all the dry patches and heals and repairs at the same time, revealing brighter healthier looking skin!

Before I found this scrub my legs were always so painfully dry and scaly – now I don’t have that problem. That is why this beautiful scrub has made it onto my cold weather essentials. I use it 3-4 times a week depending on how often I want to pamper myself.

Re-Mineralizing Body Lotion 24H from Arbonne’s SeaSource Detox Spa – $61

Finding a moisturizer that I love has always been a hard task for me. Either it doesn’t actually hydrate and it just masks the problem or it is too oily and greasy. When I first tried this moisturizer I was BLOWN AWAY! I love it. It has a hydro-trap technology that helps to hydrate and hold its moisture so you’re not losing it throughout the day. It also helps to give your skin a firmer appearance and it soften your skin. Also because its sea salt based it repairs and heals! I happily use it everyday!

Pampermint Hand and Foot Care Set from Arbonne’s Holiday line – $46

The smell is INSANELY YUMMY. When I put it on to pamper my hands or feet I can’t help but breath in that authentic candy-cane smell. I just want to eat my hands! And the best part in it is not artificial fragrance that has tons of chemicals, it is all safe smells that come from real ingredients! Everyone asks what it is every time I wear it – it is the perfect smell to get into the holiday spirit.

So there are three of my ALL TIME FAVOURITE cold weather essentials for the body, keep your eyes open for the next one which will be face related! Also one of these goodies could be in a giveaway I’m planning to do soon – so eyes open for that as well!

What are some of your favourite cold weather essentials? Have you tried any of these must haves?

Quick n’ Lovely Review: Sigma Brushes*

Hey Pretty Lovelies!

We were fortunate enough to have Obsessed Look contact us to send us two Sigma Beauty brushes to review, the E10 РSmall Eye Liner Brush and E35 РTapered Blending Brush. So what were my thoughts?

Tapered Blending Brush – $17.99

First off I love that this brush is white. I love the simple sleek look of the brushes, they aren’t showy they just get the job done. I was so happy to find that this brush is WAY softer than my Mac blending brush (has anyone else felt like their Mac brushes are hard on the eyes?). The shape is different than I’m use to but I really like it. I would definitely recommend this to someone who is looking to add a blending brush to their brush collection – especially for the price.

Small Eye Liner Brush – $15.99

When I saw this on the website I new I wanted to try it. Myself and gel/fluid liner don’t get along so well. I am a sister who knows all to well the struggle of getting that winged look perfect. Which is why I am so pleased to announce that this brush seriously helped me concur the look. Mind you it took me a while and I was being SUPER careful but this is an amazing tool for everyone from people who struggle with liner to¬†people who can do it effortlessly. Seriously the size is amazing.

Vegan: Not entirely. Some brushes are made of animal hair but they state that no animals are harmed during this process. AND they are planning to transition all brushes to synthetic (no animal hair).
Cruelty-Free: You’ll be happy to know that Sigma does not test on animals.

Quick n’ Lovely Review: Arbonne Country Garden Palette

country garden palette
Hey pretty lovelies!

How is everyone doing? Have you commented this month to enter our giveaway yet?

Today I’m going to tell you about Arbonne’s Country Garden Palette. When I first saw it the packaging alone made me want it, however I was reluctant. And even though I’ve wanted to switch to a healthier daily makeup routine I still faltered. But I finally gave in and this beauty arrived in my mail this week.

This awesome set comes with blush, bronzer, four shadows and a lipstick. The fact that its inspired by the English country side kills me! I love it. Let me dive right into the lipstick because I AM IN LOVE.

Seriously if I could order 500 of these I would. I LOVE the packaging and that its white and gold, so cute and so stylish. The pink colour would, in my opinion, suit just about anybody. It glides on like a balm and has a ton of moisture which is incredible for my usually dry lips. Also it smells like candy but its not an overwhelming smell. Its nice and sheer but the colour still stands out and is decent at building.

I’ll tell you now, if you’re going for a matte look this palette is not for you. It has a nice glow and sparkle to it that helps enhance your features and helps you to create a soft, feminine look.

The eyeshadows have a great pay off and they’re perfect for a soft romantic summer look. But you can also build the darker colour for a more bold, yet still soft and romantic eye. The brush is adorable as well, but I usually don’t use brushes that come with a palette, however I like that its all vegan.

Lipstick, blush, bronzer

Lipstick, blush, bronzer

For me I would use the blush as more of a highlight as its got a pretty high sheen, but depending on your skin tone you could love it as a full on blush. With the bronzer I apply it to my nose, tops of my cheek bones, hairline on my forehead and my chin to naturally highlight where the sun would hit my face. I’ve been loving that summer look. And I love the lipstick because it perfectly compliments my lips whether I’m going out to lunch with a friend or having drinks on the weekend.

Bluebell, Woodrose, Birch and Willow

Bluebell, Woodrose, Birch and Willow

If you look hard enough you can actually make out the gold flecks of the shadow Willow. It was pretty hard to photograph but works as a wonderful base or brow highlight. But as you can see the other three have got a great colour pay off.

The upside to this set is that its all vegan with no harmful chemicals. Which means all those adorable animals that I love aren’t getting tested on and I know what I’m putting on my skin wont age me or make me sick.

The only downside in my books is that its LIMITED, so if you’re on the fence just take the plunge. And remember I can get you 20% off!

What have you been using to create your favourite summer looks?

Quick n’ Lovely Foundation Showdown

foundation showdown
Hey Pretty Lovelies!

Foundation — its a complicated staple of a lot of beauty routines. It seems so simple but there is way more to it than meets the eyes, you have to get the correct colour, correct coverage, correct finish for whatever look you’re going for. Personally I feel like I’ve still got a lot to learn about it but so far these have been my staples. Lets go from full coverage to light coverage, shall we?

Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation – In 15

This baby was brought to my attention by V. It is a great matte look with full coverage. I think it is GREAT for contouring and for when you really want that full coverage look to last all the way to last call — if last call is your sort of thing. With this foundation a little goes a long way so even though its expensive it lasts and lasts and lasts.
Downside and tips: Its heavy so you definitely feel it on your skin. I only use it for nights out and I would recommend washing it as soon as you get home. For me this is NOT an every day foundation. Also the smell is pretty chemically.

Nars Sheer Glow – In Mont Blanc

I first heard about this foundation during a Pixiwoo make-up tutorial on YouTube. The price point was pretty scary for me but one day I took the plunge. If I recall correctly it wasn’t a head over heels love, it was gradual but it soon became a staple in my make-up routine. I would say its medium to full coverage and its nice for being able to build. It gives you a nice flawless look thats more natural and glowy. Nic from Pixiwoo used it on her wedding day!
Downsides and tips: When your skin is dry this foundation looks flaky, so make sure to exfoliate! (My favourite exfoliating product is the Arbonne FC5 Exfoliating New Cell Scrub. Want to try it? Ask me for my discount)

Make Up Forever HD Foundation РIn 120

This was my staple before Nars Sheer Glow came into the picture. I would say its light to medium coverage. Its light weight so you never feel like you’re totally caking it up. It is great for a daily foundation but its also build-able for a night out, which I love. They also have a ton of colours to choose from.
Downsides and Tips: I noticed once I switched to Nars Sheer Glow that this one wasn’t as flawless as I had remembered, but go try it for yourself!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation – In 52 Vanilla

This is another foundation V brought to my attention. Its light weight and gives you a light, natural dewy coverage that makes you just glow! It is perfect for every day when you just want to even out your skin tone and rock that natural look. Plus it smells SO YUMMY. In my opinion its the perfect foundation for the summertime, but I did enjoy it in the winter as well.
Downsides and tips: If you’re looking for full coverage matte this is SO not for you.

Vichy Dermablend in 15, Nars Sheer Glow in Mont Blanc, Make-up Forver HD in 120 , Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum in 52 Vanilla

Vichy Dermablend, Nars Sheer Glow, Make-up Forver HD, Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum

I actually just started using a new foundations that I’m loving from Arbonne called Perfecting Liquid Foundation with SPF 15, so keep your eyes peeled for a review on that!

Quick n’ Lovely Review: YSL Glossy Stains

Hey Pretty Lovelies!

I’ve been meaning to do this review for a while as I took the photos ages ago! Finally, here is a review on a few different shades of YSL’s Glossy Stain.

They look more vibrant in the photo.

They look more vibrant in the photo.

P.S Did anyone seen the celebrity portraits in this issue of Vanity Fair? Stunning.

Colour - 19 Beige Aquarelle

Colour – 19 Beige Aquarelle

Colour Р12 Coril Fauve

– The Look –
The look this product creates on your lips is fantastic. You can go one swipe for a touch of colour or you can build it with a few swipes for a bolder look. These glosses make your lips look fabulous and oh so kissable. As for the packaging, if YSL has something down its packaging, I love that it looks luxurious but still fun, and that slice of colour is my favourite!

– The Function –
I LOVE that these glosses don’t get sticky. Applying it the first couple times can be a little tricky with that new wand because it¬†isn’t like a usual lip gloss wand. But it totally has its upsides and once you master your own technique when using it you are one step away from luscious lips. The staying power is pretty great, if you’re going for a bold look for the whole night you will need some touchups but if you don’t mind it fading a bit as you drink the night away, its there to keep your lips looking colourful and lovely.

Colour - 5 Rouge Vintage

Colour – 5 Rouge Vintage

– The Smell and Feel –
The smell isn’t my favourite. It doesn’t have a nice fruity or flowery smell. To be honest it smells like chemicals. But it fades after you put it on, so not to worry! The feel is so unique – it feels really wet but its not slippery and slimy and it sticks to your lips effortlessly but doesn’t make your lips sticky.

Colour - 29 Rose Forreau

Colour – 29 Rose Forreau

– The Downsides –
The smell and the price point at $38.00 (CA).

– Recommend? –
Totally, everyone who loves glosses and loves stains needs at least ONE of these.

You’ll see the swatches below on the left and in the right photo is after I wiped my arm off with with a tissue and¬†then makeup remover.

Quick n’ Lovely Review: GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD

Screen shot 2014-05-13 at 10.24.52 AMHey Pretty Lovelies!

Sorry we’ve been so busy lately that our post have been lacking! But thank you for all the continued support, you all rock! (Sidenote: We WILL be doing our 1000 follower giveaway soon and we WILL be announcing April’s winner for our Monthly Comment Giveaway, have you commented for May yet? The same rules from April apply.)

This mask is the BEST mask I’ve EVER tried. Seriously, the price point scared me ($76.00 CA) but I was happily surprised by its gusto at getting rid of my stubborn blackheads. I’m happy to say its formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. Its designed to help with the following: breakouts, discoloration, black and white heads, razor bumps, and in-grown hair. Personally I use it for my blackheads.

– The Functionality –
It sets on your pores and sucks out all the crap. My face always looks so fresh and clean after. When you put it on, as it dries it defines every single pore — its insane to look at, and pretty gross. Also a little goes a long way!

– The Smell and Feel –
It smells minty with a mix of product, can’t quite put my finger on it and its full of little beads, so its pretty grainy. I wouldn’t go scrubbing my face with it. It stings a bit when you apply it but it subsides as it dries. It also makes your face feel SUPER tight where you’ve applied it. I don’t apply it to my whole face — JUST the problem areas.

– The Look –
Its a dark colour that turns into a pale green once it dries on your skin. I like the packaging, its eye-catching and up to date. However when I got it (silly me I didn’t look at the size online) I was disappointed with the size. So much money for such a little jar.

– The Downsides –
The price point. The stinging. Blackheads will reappear after a while so don’t expect it to be a permanent fix — other than that its pretty amazing.

– Recommend? –
Definitely. Especially for those of you that suffer from blackheads like I do! It clears them right out.
