scrub

Awaken Sea Salt Scrub from Arbonne’s Aromassentials – $36

Talk about my HOLY GRAIL scrub – I reviewed it a while back. Here it is if you’re interested. This sea salt scrub is full of beautiful smelling essential oils that hydrate your skin instantly ensuring that it is left looking supple, luminescent and beautiful. The sea salt works to scrub away all the dry patches and heals and repairs at the same time, revealing brighter healthier looking skin!

Before I found this scrub my legs were always so painfully dry and scaly – now I don’t have that problem. That is why this beautiful scrub has made it onto my cold weather essentials. I use it 3-4 times a week depending on how often I want to pamper myself.

seasource

Re-Mineralizing Body Lotion 24H from Arbonne’s SeaSource Detox Spa – $61

Finding a moisturizer that I love has always been a hard task for me. Either it doesn’t actually hydrate and it just masks the problem or it is too oily and greasy. When I first tried this moisturizer I was BLOWN AWAY! I love it. It has a hydro-trap technology that helps to hydrate and hold its moisture so you’re not losing it throughout the day. It also helps to give your skin a firmer appearance and it soften your skin. Also because its sea salt based it repairs and heals! I happily use it everyday!

handsandfeet

Pampermint Hand and Foot Care Set from Arbonne’s Holiday line – $46

The smell is INSANELY YUMMY. When I put it on to pamper my hands or feet I can’t help but breath in that authentic candy-cane smell. I just want to eat my hands! And the best part in it is not artificial fragrance that has tons of chemicals, it is all safe smells that come from real ingredients! Everyone asks what it is every time I wear it – it is the perfect smell to get into the holiday spirit.

So there are three of my ALL TIME FAVOURITE cold weather essentials for the body, keep your eyes open for the next one which will be face related! Also one of these goodies could be in a giveaway I’m planning to do soon – so eyes open for that as well!

What are some of your favourite cold weather essentials? Have you tried any of these must haves?

Stay lovely,

Pretty Great “Ingredients” Series

pretty great ingredients

Hey Pretty Lovelies!

You may have seen the Pretty Bad Ingredients post which focused on educating our readers on how important reading your labels is! Now on the flip side I’m giving you some ingredients, etc that are good for you! So here are a few things you want to look for when shopping for both skincare and beauty!

1. pH Correct
Did you know that our skin is actually slightly acidic? It sits at a 5.5 on the pH scale. And the reason its slightly acidic is to ward off pollutants, free radicles, environment, etc. So its seriously important to be using a product that is pH correct. When you use a product that isn’t pH correct it strips your acid mantle and can cause problem skin like dry skin, oily skin, acne, break-outs, etc. We aren’t suppose to have problem skin! When I switched to a pH correct product my skin totally changed, I no longer have dry skin, and my skin has a new glow. I only get break-outs when I eat unhealthy or sometimes when its that time of the month.

2. Vegan
I’m pretty sure all of us here LOVE animals, and if you don’t — shame on you! They’re adorable and fluffy and the best. It is so easy for us to turn a blind eye to skincare and cosmetics companies that test on animals. But for me once I found all vegan skincare and cosmetics it was a no brainer, why would I support companies that have shitty morals? Yes I write for a beauty blog and yes I will review and talk about products from companies that do test on animals and that do have animal by-products but on a day to day basis I’m all about vegan. I think from now on I’ll make a note on each post about whether a product is cruelty-free or not.

3. Dermatologist TESTED
Often we’ll see dermatologist recommended on a product. This means that the dermatologist was paid for by the company to recommend it, regardless of whether they believe in or like the product or not. But when you see dermatologist tested you know its a product that has been responsibly tested for you. Tested usually means that whatever the product says it does, it actually does!

Feel free to ask any questions if you have any! Do you have any ingredients, etc that you look for in your products?
